Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested two Port Charlotte men Tuesday for burglary and theft of $2,300 worth of fishing rods and reels.
At 11:45 p.m. May 10, a deputy reportedly observed a gray Cadillac stopped in the middle of the road in the 300 block of Hallcrest Terrace in Port Charlotte. The deputy said two subjects were putting a yellow extension cord into the car and tried to drive off.
The deputy stopped the car, which reportedly contained eight fishing rods and reels and the extension cord.

Kevin Paul Boroczyk, 19, 22289 Tennyson Ave. and Timothy Michael Warnock, 18, 2291 Tamarind St., said the fishing equipment belonged to them. Serial numbers recorded by the deputy revealed they were not reported stolen. The subjects were released as there was no evidence a crime had been committed.
CCSO received a call and responded to a home in the 23000 block of Shelby Avenue concerning theft of fishing rods and reels. On May 19, the victim provided detectives with a list of serial number that matched the numbers recorded May 10.
Tuesday, detectives stopped Boroczky's 1998 Cadillac and placed the men under arrest. The Cadillac was towed to the CCSO impound yard for forfeiture.
The men are charged with burglary and grand theft. Boroczky posted a $7,500 bond and was released. Warnock remains in jail on a $7,500 bond. The investigation continues.
