Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested two Englewood East brothers on numerous drug-dealing charges Monday: Matthew Robert Werman, 31, 7123 Teaberry St., and Mark Anthony Werman, 27, 7412 Hart St.
Deputies responded to a call at 11:44 a.m. to Mama's Restaurant, 2091 S. McCall Road, in reference to a white Nissan Titan pickup in the parking lot. The caller said Matt Werman appeared to be "waiting for something to happen or casing the pill doctor's office."
As Mark Werman saw patrol cars coming, he got out of the truck and began to walk away quickly. Deputies stopped him and his brother, driver Matthew Werman and a woman in the pickup. Deputies said Matthew closed the center console after putting something inside. He told police there was a loaded .380 in the center console.

Narcotics charges were already out for Mark Werman for an Aug. 27 undercover drug buy of Oxycodone and Dilaudid pills and he was arrested. A search reportedly located a pill bottle in his front pocket and another bottle in his underwear containing Oxycodone pills.
Deputies said they asked Matthew if there was anything in the pickup that included knives, weapons, drugs or money to which he replied "no" and they could search. Deputies found several knives in the driver side door panel; Matthew said they were for "hunting." A black nylon bag was found in the console containing seven pill bottles with Oxycodone, Hydromorphone and Diazepam, plus ibuprofen and codine.Deputies also located a wad of cash totaling $350. The currency was forfeited based on the Florida Contraband Act.
Matthew was arrested on 10 charges: three counts of trafficking in Daizepam while armed, and one count trafficking in Oxycodone while armed, and Hydromorphone while armed. He was also charged with two counts possession of ibuprofen without a prescription, codeine, hydromorephone and narcotics paraphernalia.
Matt Werman was charged with sale and delivery of Oxycodone and dilaudid within 1,000 feet of a church, Sale and possession of dilaudid, drug paraphernalia, and two counts possession of Oxycodone.
Matthew Werman remains in jail on $132,000 bond. Mark Werman remains in jail on $58,500 bond.
