The Boca Grande Historical Society presents author, speaker and entrepreneur Elizabeth Huntoon Coursen for a free lecture on vintage Florida at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Community Center Auditorium.
Coursen's Power Point lecture will take her Boca Grande audience on at trip back in time covering Florida's history as a backwoods swamp in the 1900s through its transformation as a vacation paradise in the 1950s.
Coursen, 53, uses museum-quality vintage Florida postcards she's collected over the past three decades to tell her tale, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session, reception and book signing.
