An arrest has been made in the Nov. 17, 2012, homicide of a 75-year-old Tropical Gulf Acres man.
Michael Christopher Sheeley, 35, 26292 Seminole Lakes Blvd., Punta Gorda, was charged with second-degree murder.
He has been in the Charlotte County Jail since Nov. 18 after an arrest for grand theft, dealing in stolen property, fraudulent use of credit cards and false verification of ownership - all related to the homicide case.

Police responded to a medical call at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 17. Duane C. Fenner, 75, was found breathing but unresponsive by his daughter in his home at 12517 Gucci Drive.
Fenner was transported to Charlotte Regional Medical Center by EMS. The daughter told detectives his car and jewelry was missing from the home.
The victim apparently had been subjected to violence and incapacitated. The victim died Nov. 24 at the hospital. Post-mortem examination substantiated sustained trauma to his throat resulted in his death.
Sheeley was allegedly linked to the charges by physical and documentary evidence, and statements made in interviews with MCU detectives.
Sheeley was formally charged with murder today. He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail on no bond pending further court action.
