Dean Timothy Kimbrough knows the Rev. Michelle Robertshaw of the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church as well as anyone in the clergy having been her mentor.
Kimbrough attended Robertshaw's Jan. 20 installation ceremony as the second rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and reception. He later shared some insights into her religious makeup.
"Michelle and I worked together as rector and assistant to the Rector at the Church of the Holy Family in Chapel Hill, N.C.," Kimbrough said. "When I was looking for an assistant to the rector in the early part of the last decade, I must have searched through 100 files and applications before finding someone with the rare combination of faith, passion, competency, loyalty and social grace: Michelle Robertshaw. She's one in a million.

"The match made between Michelle and St. Andrew's surely is a match made in heaven as only the Holy Spirit can make. She will love the people of St. Andrew's and the people of the island because she is called to do so by God and by her ordination vows.
"But you will remember her (and hopefully come to love her) because she answers the call of duty recognizing the extraordinary privilege you have placed before her."
